Tabi * 旅 (たび)

*Japanese for: journey that nourishes the senses and soul.

In Japanese culture, tabi evokes a sense of exploration, reflection or transformation; traveling as a metaphor for life’s journey

Hi, I’m Stephanie. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by what helps us grow—by how we move beyond the stories and beliefs that quietly keep us small. My own journey took me through that process, layer by layer, until I found myself living with more clarity, peace, and alignment with what truly matters to my soul.

That path changed everything for me. It led to a career as a transformational coach—work that has become one of my greatest joys. It’s deeply fulfilling to witness what happens when a woman reconnects with herself and begins to live from that place of inner knowing.

What I’ve learned through it all is this: every journey, whether inward or outward, holds the potential to awaken something new in us.

As a coach and co-creator of Tabi Journeys, I believe travel becomes sacred when it lights your heart and stirs your senses. Each experience we create is an invitation—to slow down, reconnect, and open to the extraordinary beauty that’s within you, and all around you.

Travel woke me up and shaped my life and my career. Over decades as a tour planner and guide, I’ve been fortunate to explore many parts of our magnificent world—through personal travel and with the many groups I’ve had the privilege to lead. What I’ve learned is that the most meaningful travel is never about how many places we see or how far we go, but how deeply we engage.

The heart of every journey is the people, places, and cultures that expand our lens on the world and the issues we care about. What matters most are the connections we make—with local people and communities, with the natural world, and with our fellow travelers. Travel at its best is about moving slowly, sinking in, listening, observing, stepping into the stories of others, and celebrating our shared humanity. And we never return home as the same person.

As a co-founder of Tabi Journeys, I am committed to creating experiences that inspire, restore, and deepen our connection to the world. We believe in travel that gives back—transformational journeys that open hearts, spark curiosity, support local communities, and invite us to see both the world and ourselves anew.

Stephanie White & Kathleen Pond

Tabi Journeys Founders

We’ve been friends and collaborators for over a decade—walking beside each other through life, business, and transformation along the way. We both know what it feels like to outgrow a life that no longer fits—and how much courage and heart it takes to begin again.

Kathleen has spent most of her career planning domestic and international tours and guiding travelers through educational programs and other adventures, while Stephanie’s work has centered on personal growth and one-on-one coaching that helps people reconnect with themselves.

Together, we’ve woven what we love most into these journeys to create experiences that invite both outer exploration and inner renewal … where wonder, connection, and a deep sense of our aliveness can naturally unfold.
