Where You’ll Stay

El Encinal de Las Flores

Encinal de las Flores, an eco-village on the outskirts of Valle de Bravo, is the creation of renowned architect and artist Victor Klassen. Built over the course of twenty years on an abandoned stone quarry perched on a bluff, it looks out over the valley, surrounding mountains, and the stunning Lake Avándaro—the shimmering heart of the region.

El Encinal is a living work of art—part Gaudí, part Hobbit—and each of the eight suites is entirely unique, featuring Victor’s world-class furniture, signature doors, mosaics, and paintings. The property has self sustaining solar panels and water heaters as well as a rainwater harvesting system. Guests have access to the community kitchen, dining room, and library, as well as the meditation room and outdoor terraces with sweeping views of the mountains, valley, and lake.

El Encinal is impossible to describe—you simply have to experience it.

Ursula Suarez, the manager at El Encinal, brings a warm, grounded presence to the retreat. During our stay there, she’ll guide our sound bath, meditation, and yoga sessions, and her calm, welcoming nature will make us feel truly cared for.
